Coppell: 2 - Plano East: 2

The Coppell Cowboys, having secured playoffs, were looking to continue being second in the district. But to do so they had to beat the Hebron Hawks. On a chilly Tuesday evening, the Cowboys went head to head against the Hebron Hawks, in a thrilling match, from start to finish.

The game started very evenly both teams were generating opportunities and maintaining a good amount of ball possession. But the Cowboys would pull away with a goal within the first ten minutes of the game. Sam Jun was able to successfully take on a Hebron defender and laid it off to J McGill in the box, where he was able to get a shot off and bury it into the net.

Hebron wouldn't stay quiet though, minutes later Hebron would clap back at Coppell by tying the game up. The Hawks winger was able to regain possession of the ball in Coppell’s half and also was able to take it down the line. Once near the baseline, the Hebron winger was able to whip it back into the box where another Hebron attacker was able to strike it and put it in the back of the net.

This first goal for Hebron gave them all of the momentum they needed to have the edge on Coppell. Hebron would proceed to go ahead in the scoreboard. Towards the end of the half, Hebron had a corner kick. When whipped into the box the ball was deflected and continued to bounce inside the box. Coppell defenders tried to clear the ball, but they weren't successful, allowing the Hebron attacker to tap the ball into the back of the net.

Going into halftime the Coppell Cowboys seemed calm and composed even though they were down in the score. Once the second half started Coppell maintained their composure and this proved crucial to their final goal. Even though Hebron dominated most of the half, Coppell was able to score a goal in the dying embers of the game. Off a long throw from Brodie Scott, Lica Grosoli was able to put it in the back of the net with a brilliant header.

Even though the Cowboys were looking for a win they were grateful to tie the game. Coppell is looking to secure the top 2 and maybe win the district, as they face the number one team in the district, Flower Mound on Friday evening.
